Who We Are

When we use the term “Friends” or “we,” “us” or “our”, we mean to refer collectively to the Friends of the Global Fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The Site may link to third party websites or services not owned or controlled by Friends. Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to those third party websites, and Friends is not responsible for the data collection practices of any third parties.

The Information We Collect and Use

When we use the term “Personal Information” we mean information that can be used to identify you as an individual person or that reasonably relates to you as an individual person. In general, you can use our Site without telling us who you are or providing Personal Information to us. However, we collect Personal Information and other information through your use of our Site. We may collect information directly from you or automatically, as described in this section. We never sell your Personal Information.

  1. Personal Information You Provide To Us
We collect Personal Information that you provide to us when you use our Site. For example:

      1. When you sign up for our newsletter we collect your contact information, such as name and email address, and communication preferences. We use this information to manage how we communicate with you.
      2. When you contact us online using our contact form or email us for information, we collect your contact information, such as name and email address, and whatever information you supply to us in your message. We use this information to communicate with you, if requested, and otherwise fulfill the purpose of your content submission.
      3. If you submit an application for employment with Friends online, we will collect information you provide us, including your contact information, work history, employment needs and interests, and anything relevant to the job for which you are applying. We use this information to help us evaluate and communicate with you about your employment application.
  2. Information About Donors
We collect Personal Information from donors who make donations on our Site or offline, for example, by telephone or in-person at events. This section applies to information donors provide to us when making donations in any setting, including name, contact information, payment card information, and other Personal Information (collectively, “Donor Personal Information”).

    1. If you choose to donate to us, we will collect your Donor Personal Information to process the donation. Online donations are completed by an independent third-party service provider. When you click “Donate Now” on the Site, you are redirected to our third-party service provider to process the donation. That third party collects Donor Personal Information, including payment card information, using its own service providers to complete the transaction, and transmits the donation to us, along with your name, contact information and other relevant details you provided in connection with making the donation. We use Donor Personal Information to account for the donation, communicate with you and interact with you as a donor of Friends.
    2. In accordance with our Donor Privacy Policy, we will not sell, share or trade Donor Personal Information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations, except if you give us permission to do so, or as described in the “When We May Share Information with Others” section of this Privacy Policy.
  3. Information Collected Automatically and Cookies
