OUR MISSION
Friends advocates for U.S. leadership to end the epidemics of AIDS, TB and malaria, the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, with a particular focus on support for the Global Fund. We also contribute to dialogues on the future of global health policy and financing, bringing best practices from long-successful disease-focused programs to shape policy, identify synergies and work for systems change.
Advocacy
Friends educates U.S. policymakers about the Global Fund’s innovative, transparent approach to global health programming and how U.S. investment is helping to save millions of lives around the world.
Thought leadership
Friends has built strong credibility among government, global health, private sector, faith-based and grass tops partners. We organize dialogues on issues such as civil society engagement in health decision making, human rights-based pandemic preparedness and the use of digital tools in strengthening health systems. Friends provides cogent analysis and expert opinion with the goal of advancing evidence-based global health equity.
Friends Network
Friends is part of a network, Fund for the Global Fund, that includes Friends Europe and Friends Japan. The Friends network works together to mobilize public and political support for the Global Fund. Friends also works closely with other advocates around the world.
